At the ballpark the Jefferson Park Penguins tallied 5 runs in the 8th inning
and outscored the North Dallas Fire Ants 9 to 6.
Jefferson Park scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 8th inning when
they scored 5 runs on 4 hits. The highlight belonged to Manny Ramirez who
thrilled the crowd when he rifled a three-run blast (his 5th of the season).
Jefferson Park had 12 hits for the afternoon.
The victory was credited to Juan Rincon(1-0) who went 2 innings, allowing no
runs. Rincon got help from Akinori Otsuka who was credited with his 6th save.
Chad Cordero(1-2) ended up with the loss in relief.
Jefferson Park now has a record of 17-12. Adam Arnett was unhappy with his
club's recent performance. 'We can't keep losing games' he said. 'It gets
to be embarrassing after a while.'
